Episode 2 - 'Everlasting Fairytale' at Kings Park, Perth

Welcome to the second episode of Dingo Dyeworks Vlog. We sit in beautiful Kings Park amongst Kangaroo Paws and Gum trees on Remembrance Day. We chat about the red poppies and read a poem by Moina Michael called We Shall Keep the Faith.

More colours have come freshly out of the dyepot, themed as our Everlasting Fairytale, based around the beautiful Everlasting wildflowers that grow throughout Western Australia en masse, in September and October. Their delicate papery texture and their whimsical pink colour gave inspiration for the 'Everlasting' coloured yarns. The pretty pink coloured yarn is softly balanced by a choice of neutral and muted colours. They all come together in the 'Everlasting Fairytale' colourway. We chat about the flowers, marsupials and soils that have influenced this collection.

 A brief mention of What's On the Needles:
Tubularity by Martina Behm

And for anyone who wishes to have a copy of the poem, please find it below;

See you soon and Hooroo!

 We Shall Keep the Faith
by Moina Michael, November 1918

Moina Michael

Oh! you who sleep in Flanders Fields,
Sleep sweet - to rise anew!
We caught the torch you threw
And holding high, we keep the Faith
With All who died.

We cherish, too, the poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led;
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies,
But lends a lustre to the red
Of the flower that blooms above the dead
In Flanders Fields.

And now the Torch and Poppy Red
We wear in honor of our dead.
Fear not that ye have died for naught;
We'll teach the lesson that ye wrought
In Flanders Fields.
